# How do I create an adaptive exam?

Adaptive exams are available in some specialties, and we are continually working to add more.

To create an adaptive exam, select the blue **Create Adaptive Exam** button on the **Customize Exam** page. You do not need to select specialties to be tested on, as these will be selected automatically.  

You will then be brought to the exam. The initial question will be a moderate level of difficulty. The exam will automatically select more or less difficult questions based on your performance.  

At the end of the exam, you will see your results. Our research shows that BoardVitals users are prepared to sit for their board exams when scoring in the 65-75% range.
